About Dandello

Who is Dandello?

Dandello Delambre is (was) the first victim of a transporter accident and thus became the first virtual cat. He was a white longhair cat, pet of Andre and Helene Delambre and their son, Phillippe. For reasons known only to the scriptwriters of the film The Fly, Andre, who was reputed to be unable to hurt even a fly, placed Dandello in the disintegrator-reintegrator chamber and dematerialized him, whereupon, in a typical feline show of cooperation, Dandello refused to rematerialize, leaving only his meow behind.
